Site Orientation#

Make the Chinese mixed-blood blog Great Again
The meaning is that I can't guarantee when I will start speaking a bird language.
But believe me, reading my ramblings is always more pleasant than reading code (stupid remarks).

About Me#

My friends in China usually call me Jie / 介 / 老介 / 小介,Jie is my last name, and many of my nicknames are derived from my surname. My American friends and colleagues call me by my first name, so I have now accepted my full name well.

Next, I'll tag myself with a bunch of useful and useless tags: non-binary (gender), female (sex), pansexual (sexual orientation), Chinese-Han (ethnicity)

I am a relatively firm and relatively consistent feminist. In simpler terms, I hope people can have the possibility of pursuing diverse self-realization. The binary gender construction hinders almost everyone from truly becoming themselves, while women undoubtedly bear more exploitation. This concept may also apply to concepts such as ethnicity, culture, and social class, but my knowledge is too limited to be consistent.

What I'm Busy With#

Currently located in Northern California, I am in a five-year Clinical Psychology Psy.D. program, and I am almost done with the second year. Busy, tired, and in debt, but I am enjoying my studies. This year's clinical internship is at a public university counseling center, and next year's clinical internship will be at a community mental health center and a private practice. I love doing clinical work too much, professional growth and personal growth go hand in hand, it's challenging, and it's rewarding.

Without any surprises, I should graduate successfully as a Doctor of Psychology in three years, pass the licensing exam in four years to become a licensed psychologist, and strive to bring some help or comfort to people in this chaotic world. Psychologists usually do psychotherapy, psychological assessment, and disease diagnosis, and are not responsible for prescribing medication (but there are exceptions). In the Chinese context, everyone likes to use the term "psychologist," and I'm too lazy to correct it.

Writing#

At the sincere invitation of the great @songkeys (referring to the WeChat message "When will you start xlog blogging" and a huge CSB), I have decided to move to xlog to write something, trying to maintain my gradually deteriorating Chinese expression ability due to daily intensive use of English.

Due to my numerous and self-entertaining hobbies, I can completely imagine myself running wild in all directions.

My recent hobbies (04/2023) are: buying groceries and cooking, doing my own nail art, and eating boxed ice cream.
April 2024 Update: This year, I didn't have time to do nail art, I spent more time making friends, and it was quite rewarding. My cooking skills have improved, and the ice cream is still delicious.

Making Friends#

Having immersed myself in social media for many years, although I have never become an influencer (and I disdain it), I always receive some attention and make some friends. So, feel free to like, comment, and share with me (in a Taiwanese YouTuber tone)!
You can also find me on Xiaohongshu and Bilibili by searching for "beierbear".
